4th Graders did some research in the library and then created a project to teach others about what they learned. Students could choose between making a stop motion video, a green screen video, or a Quik slideshow. After projects were completed, students uploaded their projects so others could view them.

Darrin Crow, a local storyteller, presented to 2nd grade students to enhance their curriculum about immigration. He told tales of immigrants to Iowa, what their journey was like, their hardships, and how they finally settled in Pella.
Author Coach Sloth visited Prairie View on March 2 and talked with kids about what it's like being an author. He shared how he gets his ideas and how he names his characters. Kids enjoyed listening to him read his books and enjoyed acting out one of his stories. They also enjoyed his magic coloring book and couldn't wait to try it out! Some 3rd graders were able to have a pizza luncheon with the author and asked him questions while they ate. |
